RinRin Fantabulous

RinRin Fantabulous is the superhero name I made up for myself several years ago. It’s actually a little unwieldy for a Tumblr name and I might change it at some point. 

I am married to the delightful International Orange, who I usually refer to as IO on Tumblr. We’ve been together since 2004 and got married in 2010. 

Even though I am heterocommitted, my queerness is still very important to me.

I am a social worker engaged in clinical practice (although I am not yet a LCSW). I work in community mental health, which I love. My practice interests include anxiety and problems with eating and body image.

I also have a MA in women’s and gender studies, which informs my social work practice a lot.

I am hugely (haha) into fat acceptance, body positivity, and Health at Every Size. Learning to love my body has completely transformed my life, and I’m a huge advocate for everybody else being able to do the same.

Within this social worker there also lurks a creative writer. I occasionally post poetry of questionable quality.

I live in a medium-sized city in the weird borderland between the southeast and midwest. It’s not hard reading my Tumblr to figure out where this is, but I don’t make a huge deal about it because I like to preserve my quasi-anonymity. 

I have a Boston terrier named Otis and a naughty kitty named Franklin. If you ever visit my home, Franklin may try to attack you, but do not be afraid; Otis will rush to your defense.

The New Pornographers are my very favorite band ever, and I often refer to their lead singer Carl Newman as my other husband.
