Today I learned that my practicum agency, which I really want to work for, is interested in hiring me after I graduate. I also ordered my cap and gown. And I leave for Munich on Saturday. And I’m listening to the new Winterpills album.
Life is pretty fantastic right now!

Things I Want that Are Not Totally Compatible
- To get a PhD - To give IO the opportunity to get a MFA - To attend the Women’s Therapy Centre Institute in NYC - To get a MFA in creative writing just for fun - To have a baby - To have a private practice - To move to a large East Coast city - To move to a more rural part of my current state - To spend at least six months living abroad, preferably longer - To have a small, minimalist,...

Today’s Living Social email has the subject: “Three Ballet Barre Fitness Classes.”
I have always wanted to try ballet, so I opened the email to check it out.
Spring is sneaking up on us, and all the shorts and tanks in the mall’s display windows have us thinking about our thighs. Say so long to the winter wobbles with today’s deal from Fierce Fitness by Design.

So the first meeting of my HAES group, Healthy Body, Happy You was on Monday. It went really, really well. There were six people there, and probably 2-3 more will be joining next week.
We did a written activity called “How Do You See Yourself?” that included seven questions about how you’d describe your body, when you feel good about it and when you don’t, what you think...

I am exactly 344 pages behind on my reading and I have a paper due that is to be based largely on the content of this book on Friday.

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes →
In other food news, I made these for breakfast along with homemade butter pecan syrup. Sooooo good. If you’ve ever enjoyed the Harvest Grain & Nut pancakes at IHOP, try these!
(As suggested in the comments, I added an egg and used applesauce instead of oil.)

Soft Tacos With Mushrooms, Cabbage and Chipotle... →
For vicarvelociraptor!
My notes: She is not joking when she says a small head of cabbage. I bought the smallest head they had at the store and still had a fuckton leftover. But that’s okay, because I can make more blue cheese coleslaw with it. :)
Also, the chipotle ranchera sauce is really goddamned hot. Use it judiciously, or if you’re really wimpy, omit the jalapeños.

Last night we were picking up some pizza and the girl working the counter had a sweet tattoo of a Volvo 240 on her arm. I chatted with her about it and she told me she’s on her third Volvo; I confessed that I am now a Corolla driver. It made me miss my 740 and made me want to be best friends with her!

Email from an instructor (not Dr. Dreamboat):
Hi [Rinrin],
You did such an outstanding job on your paper I’m hoping you will give me permission to share a portion of it with your classmates. Would you be willing to cut and paste section “D” and send it to me? You did the best job of organizing this section and I’d like to let your classmates see a “best...

I ran into two people I know at Kroger and both of them quasi-blew me off. Geeze! I thought I was looking all fly with my nail polish matching my skirt, but I guess that’s not enough for some people!

Kroger brand vanilla almond milk tastes like the milk that’s leftover after you eat your Lucky Charms.

Dear Self,
Do you remember when you wrote this poem?
Do you want to know what I think about the pink and white trees that I can see from the window of the lunchroom where I go to buy chips that I will eat with my ham sandwich back at my desk, under florescent light and far from windows?
I think that I am waiting to flower that way, too.

The worst thing the internet has ever done..

.. has been to foster the idea that people are not only entitled to their opinions, but entitled to promulgate them without competence, thought, patience, consequence, or empathy.
I agree with the second part more than the first, but I agree with the second part a whole hell of a lot.
I’m just reblogging this because I think it’s so awesome...

I am seriously bummed that I got a 96 on my psychopathology exam and not a 100. I have totally become THAT person.

After coming across this post about ManGlaze’s Santorum, I felt like I had to buy it, despite the disgusting name. I mean, it’s totally gorgeous. I finally ordered it this morning. I pretty much never paint my fingernails because I always make such a mess of it, but for this polish, I think I will.

Sometimes I get really mad at how unfair it is that I can’t just make out with every person I’m attracted to.
